How Shrink Funnel Types Play a Part in Shrink Film

Shrink tunnels are used for packaging with heat different shrink wrapped items.  They do vary in sizes, and the ways that they do this.  they usually create heat, and they do this to everything that runs there. The Types

The Factors that Impact the Speed 

There are a few factors that do impact the speed.

The first is power.  The power that’s supplied to this is huge, and usually, a  tunnel that’s running around 220 v is usually able to add more heat than something running around 110v.  This also is great for determining the motor size too, as the amperage plays a factor.

The size of the tunnel and the product also plays a part. A product that’s in there for longer shrinks the total amount that’s wrapped. The length of the product also needs to be considered when buying shrink tunnels.

The film also is another thing to consider as well. Thicker films do need more heat, and they need slower speeds through the conveyor belt.  This influences the temperature of the tunnel, and other settings too.

PVC film that’s shrinking usually tends to shrink at a temperature that’s much lower than the other types.  That’s why a lot of shrink film testing for PVC starts at lower temperatures than the polyolefin types of films.

The conveyor speeds also are related to the products that get packaged every single minute. One singular package is around 10 or so inches in terms of length.  With the spacing of the products, it also means that the products per minute that go in there are approximately the feet per minute, and you can look at the film type that’s used within the tunnel as well.
